BBIH Help - Table of contents 2.8.1 Search anywhere

Search anywhere is available on the both the Simple search screen and the Advanced search screen.

When you enter text in this field, the software searches for it anywhere in the database, in bibliographical data, subject indexing and notes.

If you enter more than one word, the software will search for records that contain all the words irrespective of their location or order in the record. However you can modify this to search for phrases (learn more: 2.3) and you can also use Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) to modify how the search is carried out (learn more:2.4.3).

You can use wildcards in this field. We strongly recommend the use of the multi-character wildcard, *, when you are using this field to search for subjects (learn more: 2.4.1).

This field has an auto-complete list (learn more: 2.5).

Hint for RHS Bibliography users: Unlike the Quick search and Simple search fields on the RHS Bibliography, this field searches publisher names, places of publication and notes.
